French cars have always had a place in my heart. Having had Peugeots and
Renaults when growing up and dreaming about a Citroën Pallas made its mark.
The latter, smaller Citroën’s never did it for me. I think it is due to the competition and
the pricing.
The new Citroën C3 with its 6-speed automatic transmission and enhanced safety
and comfort specification now makes it a compelling value proposition with continued
excellence in design and technology. I just loved the sheer simplicity and maybe
basic interior design that has no frills, and yet, it is functional and adequate to have a
really exciting driving experience. The seats could do with some side bolstering. Yet
looking at a price from only R249,900 makes it a certain choice for the sub
R300 000.00 sector.
Citroën C3, now features advanced safety and comfort upgrades, along with the
newly available high-performance six-speed automatic transmission.
A host of upgrades, that elevate both driving comfort and safety is part and parcel of
the package. Depending on the trim you select the C3 now feature automatic air
conditioning, auto-folding rear-view mirrors, and foldable roof grab handles for
passengers. In addition, LED Vision projector headlamps and indicators integrated
into the mirrors further enhance the vehicle's design and functionality.
Safety has been a major focus in this update. The new Citroën C3 comes equipped
with six airbags, three-point seatbelts, ISOFIX seat anchors, ABS and EBD across
the range. In addition, the new 6-speed automatic also features Electronic Stability
Programme (ESP).
For the first time, the Citroën C3 will now be available with a six-speed automatic
transmission mated to its proven 1,2-litre Turbocharged PureTech engine delivering
81kW and 205Nm of torque from only 1750 rpm. This combination ensures a
confident and smooth and even feisty driving experience, perfect for both city
commutes and longer journeys.
Retaining its key attributes that make it a standout in its segment makes it a real
vehicle to consider in this price range. It continues to offer a spacious interior with a
2,540mm wheelbase and Citroën's renowned Advanced Comfort suspension system
that provides the brand's signature "Flying Carpet Effect" for an exceptionally smooth
ride and road hold abilities.
The 10-inch simplicity and ease of the infotainment system with wireless Android
AutoTM and Apple CarPlay® connectivity remains a highlight, providing drivers and
passenger with seamless digital integration. Other features of the C3, such as dual-
split LED DRLs, a compact 360mm steering wheel for improved manoeuvrability,
along with intelligent storage all add to the car's practicality and style.
The new Citroën C3 offers a wide range of customisation options, allowing
customers to personalise their vehicle to suit their individual tastes. Metallic paint
and a stylish dual-tone roof come at no extra charge.
To further enhance its value and offer, the C3 comes with a 2-year/30,000 km service
plan and a 5-years/100,000km warranty providing customers with long-term peace of
mind.
The Citroën C3 was recently recognised as the Biggest Achiever of the Year in
passenger car sales by Naamsa’s Accelerator Awards. The Citroën C3 has enjoyed
a fantastic market reception with one of the country’s fastest sales growth rates. One
of the reasons for Citroën’s success with the model has been its incredible value
proposition, simplicity and having all the crucial elements in the segment.

Citroën C3 1.2 MAX 5MT R259,900

This is one of my top five choices for affordability, simplicity and value proposition.
